Swiss filmmaker Marcel Wyss finds himself caught in a spiral of fear, anxiety and self-doubt in the wake of his brother’s loss and facing mounting strain in his marriage. The personal crisis prompts a daring search for healing through experimentation with psychoactive hallucinogens.

Turning the camera on himself and documenting the process with honesty and scientific rigour, Wyss undertakes a deeply personal exploration of altered states of consciousness – from a mescaline clinical trial at the University of Basel, through LSD retreats, to a raw shamanic ayahuasca ceremony in the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest.
